SNAPSHOTS | Bukidnon Cowboy

I am a proud Bukidnon resident. By that saying, I am also proud of our cowboy tradition who never cease to entertain spectators part of an annual event called Kaamulan Festival which happens every February - March of the year.

I am aching to go back there and have some fun.

SNAPSHOTS | A ride to Lake Manlamonay, Don Carlos, Bukidnon

Lake Manlamonoy
Lake Manlamonay is an infamous lake located at about seven kilometers away from the Sayre Highway, Don Carlos, Bukidnon. While being surrounded by coconut trees and a sugarcane field, it is actually a lake that provides agri-fishing for the people living nearby.

The moment I had the chance to see this lake upclose and personal. It was soul-inviting as the sun was setting down. It threw away my exhaustion, delivering me towards serenity even for just a moment.

My bike resting beside the lake.
Getting here can be done in the form of habal-habal. But since this is me, I opted to travel short distances on my mountain bike leaving Maramag at around 4 o'clock in the afternoon. I was able to reach home by six - contented with the picture I got.

If anyone wishes to visit the small lake, please bear in mind that, like its Lake Pinamaloy brother, this one isn't suitable for swimming. Picnic is also not advisable since farm animals' are common within the premises.

Maramag Bus Terminal at Night

Today I found myself lurking in the internet for inspiration. "It's a desert here", I said.

I realized that I haven't been taking photographs for so long after an event haunted me to stop my photography hobby. You can read the story here.

But when I saw photos of my friend Estan Cabigas over at Langyaw.com, I imagined those opportunities I missed after all these months. I then decided to walk out of the room, wore comfortable sneakers, and took off for a photowalk.

There are only two photo's I can present to you this day. It is our own Maramag Bus Terminal, nothing to fancy but I think I have conceptualized change in its architecture.

All photos are copyright. By Drey Roque.

SNAPSHOTS | Descending from Mt. Kalatungan

I was actually descending 2880 meters above sea level from the summit of Mt. Kalatungan when I took this photo overlooking Southern Mindanao towards another view of a mountain in Cotabato.
Mt Kalatungan
During this time, our clothes were beginning to get soaked with rain water as the sky came down pouring. Yet for a moment of time, I was able to take a justifying photo of how beautiful this mountain can be.

Nagduaw ako sa Mt. Kalatungan, Pangantucan, Bukidnon.
